Day Five
This morning we started out from Fushe Kruje in a light drizzle, but thankfully it stopped before we actually started walking. It made the shoulder of the road a bit slushy at times, but it also kept down the dust, which was pretty important today. After a breakfast of coffee a banana and a couple of pieces of bread, we set out on the road towards Tirana. We knew that today would be a shorter day and that we would actually arrive in Tirana about a day ahead of schedule. My knee has continued to be a problem with it giving me almost constant pain as we walked but I made it into Tirana ok. I was very glad for the short day and the weekend ahead to rest up. We only logged 10 miles, but those 10 miles took us right into the heart of Tirana. After walking in to the Albanian Christian center, which is where the AEP and VUSh offices are located, I headed home for some great R&R with Cindy and the kids. We'll wash clothes, pick up things we realized we needed and did not have (for me that means more blister bandages, aspirin, sunscreen, and a few other items) then meet up to start walking again on Monday.
Tomorrow (Saturday) we will have a meeting at the same location where we have church to share with people from other churches about how they too can be involved in helping give hope to trafficked women. We have a special speaker who has flown in from the UK, Mrs Lauren Bethel. She has been very active in the fight against human trafficking throughout Europe for a number of years. We will also share testimonies from the walk to this point.
One of our walkers, Jeremy, will be returning to the UK after the weekend, so this marked the end of the walk for him. Through personal sponsorships he was able to raise over 2000 British Pounds to help with the ministry here. Next week Hervin will only walk one day before taking off on some other obligations he has so that will leave just Richard Welch and I as walkers. Pray that me knee improves so that it will not be an issue!

thanks for the updates, Matt. I will certainly pray for your knee and the walk in general.
Just found this bro...I'll be praying for you on this. I don't normally take a year to reply back to an e-mail, but this has been an unusual period. Will connect soon. In Him, Dale
